Maurits Unkel

Maurits Unkel works as a bioinformatician at the Erasmus Medical Center within the Department of Psychiatry, under the supervision of Femke de Vrij. His research focuses mainly on the analysis of human iPSC-derived 2D neuronal networks and brain organoid models. For this, he works on single-cell transcriptomics data. Within 3D-BrAIn, he will mainly be involved in artificial intelligence network analysis in the time and frequency domains, using the 3Brain HD-MEA data and maintaining close contact with the group in Genova. He loves the combination and integration of different disciplines and technologies and hopes to aid in the discovery of novel fundamental knowledge.
